Seattle – Kerry Park

0

Kerry Park is a small neighborhood park on the south slope of Queen Anne Hill in Seattle, Washington. It’s only a little over 1 acre in size. The park was given to the city of Seattle in 1927 by Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sperry Kerry. The park offers a stunning view of the city that encompasses downtown, Elliott Bay, the West Seattle peninsula, Bainbridge Island, and Mount Rainier in the distance.

A large steel sculpture called “Changing Form” by artist Doris Totten Chase was donated by the Kerry’s 3 children. The sculpture stands about 15 feet high and is placed in the middle of the park. Since installation in 1971, the sculpture has been popular among photographers using it to frame the city skyline, and children of all ages enjoy crawling around on its smooth curved surfaces.
